On the 13th and 14th of March 2012, the CCIC project was officially launched in Sofia. The kick-off meeting gave all the partners the opportunity to present their interest in the project and to outline the strengths and weaknesses of their institutions in the 5 thematic fields of the CCIC project.
Presentations were given by the component leaders, presenting management issues, communication and dissemination, and the exchange of good practices including the methodology.Component 3 also includes the 5 thematic groups which are the focus areas within CCIC: (1) Innovative financial instruments; (2) Public procurement and innovation; (3) Publicly owned enterprises and innovation; (4) Civil society inclusion in public innovation; (5) Local/regional blind-spots (horizontal topic).
An important discussion during the meeting was about the broad definition of “public innovation”, which is to be used as the basis of the project implementation.
After the presentations and discussions took place and the consortium gave feedback on the methodology and the 5 thematic areas, each partner had to choose the thematic groups, in which to participate, according to their preferences. Hereby the start of the project was official and the cooperation between the partners started.
